Unaffected explores a sense of stasis and proairetic expectation engendered by looped footage.
The aftermath of a road traffic accident, viewed through a nightvision filter, is repeated in a 10-second loop, holding a moment of undisclosed uncertainty and disorder in a recurring mediated present. Street furniture becomes unfamiliar under extended scrutiny, foregrounding the unreality and constructedness of the urban environment. The potential for narrative content is kept outside the frame of the video, placing the viewer in an ambivalent position of hesitant anticipation, boredom, or speculative, unlocated concern.
